WEEK #31: June 15-22, 2008

Home Cookin'
Tim made a yummy dinner of grilled chicken, tatos and veggies!

Social Butterflies
Sunday
Since I slept over at Katie's (for the first time!) I walked down the street to Buckley's to meet my mom for my birthday Brunch! My mom had the quiche and I had the crab eggs bennie. We each had a mimosa and it was just a gorgeous relaxing Sunday morning in downtown Milwaukee as we sat outside enjoying the ambience.

Monday
Bowling league! Cameron was not there, and Colin was sick so the team suffered a little.
Tim = 150, 116, 120
Monica = 104, 115, 126
(I think...)

Friday
Katie came down to visit and we all went out for my birthday at Finn McCool's in Schaumburg. It was a beautiful night and we took over the entire patio! Thanks to all who came out. NO thanks to the waitress who burgled $60 >: (
Attendees:
Me, Tim, Katie, Ellen, Ashley/Andrew, Christine/Jason, Jaime+friend, Amy (not) Z., Amy Fabs, Steve/Anna, Billy/Jenn, Garry/Jacqui, Anthony, Brad
What a great turnout!!!!!!!!!!
Afterwards, Steve/Anna and Anthony came over and I busted out 325123531 photo albums!

Saturday (Monica w/Katie!)
We had a nice little Saturday planned!
Katie was here so first we had breakfast sammiches (eggs over hard, white cheddar, bacon or sausage on Everything bagels - SOOO YUM!) then she & I got gussied up and headed out to Arlington Heights for Colin's Premier of his piece, 'Nyad's Dream'. It was a free concert at the Metropolis concert hall and was sponsored by one of his Elgin Symphony donors! The performers was a trio of a cello, harp and flute. There was a cocktail reception at intermission., and then we had to cut out to head to
SHOW OF SHOWS!!!!!!
My drum corps, the Phantom Regiment's, home show!!!! It is something I have done every year except last year. I get to run into some of my old drum corps friends, supporters and staff who I have lost touch with, and take a trip down memory lane at Boylan High School and the overall atmosphere of drum corps. I get so nostalgic I nearly barf! But oh, that beer tent!! I can no longer make memories on the field - but that beer tent will always be there to make new memories!

Tim
While I was off doing all of that, Billy came over and they went to shoot pool across the street!

Humor
Something about "labia-course" at Finn McCool's. May need Tim or Katie to elaborate on that one...

Aww...That's Nice!
My birthday card from Tim!

My Wife...
She makes me want
to be a better man.
She challenges
and motivates me.
She makes me happy,
and I'd do anything to make her happy.

[inside]
She's you -
My incredible wife -
And I love you
With all my heart.

20-Second T.O.
When we went to bed Friday night, I sighed "our life sucks.." Not really trying to start a conversation - and I wasn't deeply upset, just blah. Just thinking about the stuff other people/couples are able to do and afford right now. It was entirely just an exasperation but Tim was very annoyed by it and called me out on my statement. I was super tired and just kept trying to get out of the conversation, which just made it worse.

That waitress definitely snootched our money...LAME!!!!!! I told my mom and she wanted to DIE.

And I said it once and I'll say it again, I'm glad no one comes to your birthdays ;) Haha!! I felt super popular on that patio!

LABIA-COURSE!! I really can't remember how that even came up (twss), but it was hilarious at the time!

Didn't know about that 20STO, but I'm going to steer that negative ship over to...
SUCH a nice card from Tim!!! I love it!! :D

awww! i miss so many fun things! sounds like you had a super fun bday. josh was super jealous and pissed that he wasn't there. i told him to stop impregnating me so we can do things sometimes too!

20 second TO-story of my life! any leads on a job yet for Tim?Is he still planning on going back to school? He should try going through a staffing agency; he may be able to temp somewhere for awhile if anything. i hope it works out soon, i know how much it sucks!

Yea, it was a good birthday indeed. I've concluded that it's every OTHER bday that sucks. '03 was fun (Grand Luxe!) '04 was my "quarter life crisis" and I was sick for 3wks straight, '05 was good (Bw3's with like 20ppl?), '06 was lame (me, tim, muffy & christine at gameworks!) and '07 rocked!! Sooo next year will suck - but my THIRTIETH will be awesome!

20STO: yea, you wouldn't have known b/c we were talking quiet - so it didn't even escalate to yelling. but i did think that if you went to the bathroom you woulda heard us talking b/c our door was open. But yea, it was a "fight/convo" that lasted like 10min until finally I just took the entire "life sucks" statement back and fell asleep :)

Tina!
well, someday when you are no longer pregnant and/or breast feeding - then *I* will be and situations will flip :) and like you said, we'll only have time to get drunk at our kids bday parties!

Tim is still planning to go back to school once the job thing is figured out. His mom works at the Mercantile Exchange and they may be hiring soon, they pay well and pay for school so that's the best option. But he had that interview today at the logistics place that we ALSO hope goes well.
He's met with 2 staffing places I think so far..but nothing yet!

WAIT confuse me?? With the bdays?? We're in 2008...did 2007 AND 2008 rock? So then 29 will suck, and 30 will be awesome?? because we'll be in Vegas?? ;) Which birthday was the one where I came down and we had drinks and then I left? Haha!

WHOOPS! I forget years...

2008: YAY!
2007: lame w/2ppl at Gameworks (but nice dinner with my family beforehand - but Tim's family didn't even remember my bday :(
2006: Yay! 20+ ppl (mostly steve's friends by whatev) at BW3's, started w/dinner w/BOTH families!
2005: lame in a sense - THAT is when Katie visited and went home that night! So while I only celebrated with Katie it was cool cuz that was the Happy Hour @ Slack Barshinger, dinner @ Rocket, Vince Vaughn burrito obsession with the RedEye on the train, and drinks at Tiny Lounge! AND Katie gave me the binder as a gift!!!!
2004: went out with a good amount of people - so that was nice (at Healy's) but I was dying of a cold and had my quarter life crisis (why don't you & Tim get a room!!)
2003: Grand Luxe and first bday with Timmy!!!!
